Clarifying user needs

I think the safe route is to ask the user what they need. Should I provide a translation, a summary, background information, or a full news piece? I want to respond in a friendly and concise way, so I could say something like: "你想让我做什么？需要翻译、改写标题、扩写成新闻、还是提供背景信息？” It might also be helpful to give a quick English translation. No need to do anything technical like running shells or images here.
